FAQ - Sun Protection Simplified

What is UPF 50+?

UPF 50+ fabric blocks at least 98% of harmful UV rays, helping protect your skin from sun exposure.

How is UPF different from SPF?

SPF measures how well sunscreen protects your skin from UVB rays and needs regular reapplication. UPF measures how much UV (both UVA and UVB) clothing blocks, offering consistent protection without reapplying.

How does PRTECT protect my child from the sun?

PRTECT clothing is made using UPF-rated fabrics that provide reliable sun protection. The protection is built into the fabric itself and does not wash out, making the garments suitable for extended time outdoors on holiday.

Do I still need to use sunscreen?

Yes. We recommend using sunscreen on exposed skin such as the face, hands and legs, especially during bright and long days in the sun. PRTECT clothing is designed to complement sunscreen use, not replace it.

FAQ - Fabric & Care

What are the clothes made from?

PRTECT kids’ clothing is made from carefully selected fabrics chosen for softness, breathability and durability in warm climates. All materials are designed to feel comfortable against the skin, even in heat.

How do I care for PRTECT clothing while travelling?

After swimming or play, simply rinse the garment in fresh water and hang to dry. The fabric dries quickly and is ready to wear again the same day — ideal for holidays and travel.

Can I machine wash the clothes?

Yes. All PRTECT clothing is machine washable on low temperature. We recommend to avoid spinning the garments.

Does washing affect the sun protection?

No. The sun protection is woven into the fabric and will not wash out. PRTECT garments are made to be worn, washed and reworn throughout your holiday.

FAQ — Travel & Everyday Use

What makes PRTECT clothing suitable for holidays?

PRTECT pieces are designed for long days in the sun while travelling. They are lightweight, comfortable and easy to wear from morning swims to late afternoons outdoors. The fabrics rinse easily, dry quickly and are made to be worn again the same day.

Are the clothes suitable for everyday wear?

Yes. PRTECT sunwear is comfortable enough for everyday use, but performs especially well on warm days abroad, at the pool, beach or during long afternoons outdoors.

Can kids swim in PRTECT clothing?

Yes, the fabrics are all chlorine resistant and quick dry. However, due to the amount of fabric in some of the dresses, we recommend them for poolside rather than swimming.
